Driving is a complex task, and for safe driving, you need to know the rules of sharing the road with other road users, which may include various types of vehicles such as e-scooters, buses, motorcycles, bicycles, and of course, pedestrians. With over 4,000 registered vehicles in KAUST and an additional >2,500 vehicles entering KAUST every working day, our KAUST roads are busier than we may think. Whether you walk, bike, or drive a vehicle, scooter, or golf cart in KAUST, you share the road with other road users, including pedestrians of all age groups. We are committed to Keeping KAUST Safe on the roads, and need every road user's safe actions to support that commitment.

The KAUST Vehicle and Traffic Safety Policy describes the driving rules and regulations road users need to follow to ensure everyone moves safely around KAUST. HSE encourages KAUST road users to review this document to get familiar with the behaviors and procedures that must be followed on the roads at all times.
The KAUST Road Safety Code, contains information about the traffic laws on KAUST roads and how road traffic is managed. The Road Safety Code is developed for KAUST as a component of the Traffic and Vehicle Safety Policy and is not intended to replace the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Traffic Laws. The Road Safety Code includes the safety requirements for anyone using KAUST roads, including business vehicles, and the enforcement criteria of the road rules.
